On a nostalgia kick for LotR, craving Aragon/Legolas, I came to this instead, dubious but game, and am so very glad I read it. This is simply gorgeous: thoughtful, evocative, and drenched in a bittersweetness from the immediacy of knowing what Boromir's fate is. By the end, I'm hoping the books got it wrong, that he somehow survives, despite knowing that he's got to die. I'll say it again--gorgeous. Bravo!

I hope you won´t mind me speak up after such a long time but yesterday I stumbled across this fic and I was just struck by its beauty. The measured pace of writing, the complexity of the characters– and I´d even bet it would even fit seamlessly into the book / their scenes in the movies.

I think my most favorite image is Boromir dropping onto his knees to just "await you with eyes downcast". What a pleasure for my old kinky soul! ;)

A very wonderful story! It is sad, but not without hope, as the title well reflects. I love the way Boromir is shown here, such a complex personality, and perfectly on character, too.

Articulate and passionate; the best Aragorn/Boromir I've read.
