The first time I read this, I was just lurking and so I never left a comment.
But this story has really stayed with me--and I don't think I've seen anything quite like this take on Glorfindel anywhere else.
I think this piece takes a risk and it succeeds in what it's doing.

That's a great last sentence!
I like this drabble. It also reminds me of that unpublished epilogue with Sam and Elanor--somebody recently quoted the bit about Sam's sea longing to me.
Author's Response: Thanks! I took my idea from the unpublished epilogue, which to me makes it clear that however settled and happy Sam was, he still had the sea longing inside him. Sometimes finding an ending is hard, sometimes easy. Fortunately this time it was easy. :))
