Story notes: The main inspiration for writing this fic? I found a screencap the other day of Legolas after Théoden telling them to leave the dead. He's standing on the cliff, the Evenstar clutched in his hands. And he looks like the most pitiful creature on the face of the earth. The picture of pure sadness. Why? This is my trip into Legolas' mind as he speaks to one who is dead.
